Accessibility The Hotel is a mere 45-minutes drive to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The fare for Airport Limousine is about RM150 and for the budget taxi is about RM69.00
The Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur Location The Inaugural International Conference on the Roles of the Humanities and Social Sciences in Engineering (ICoHSE) will be held at The Legend Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Parallel sessions are arranged in different rooms based on subject theme. Further details will be updated soon.
Registration The Pre-registration for ICoHSE is on the 4th December 2008 from 4 pm. to 6 pm. The registration date for the conference is on the 5th December 2008, from 8 am. to 10 am.
Participant Tag Policy The participant tags will give access to seminar rooms, lectures, meals and other participant privileges. Kindly wear the participant tags to all functions throughout the conference.
Audio/Visual Equipment Every conference room is equipped with a laptop connected to a LCD projector. The laptop contains Microsoft software, including all the main presentation formats (PowerPoint, MS Office, and PDF) with USB connection. You are advised to upload your presentation onto the desktop of the laptop in advance. Please be sure to arrive 30 minutes before your session begins. The presenters should test their presentation files and the connection with the LCD projector. In addition, there will be a Help Desk in each conference room. The presenters can ask for technical assistance as well as acquiring information regarding the programme.
Speaker Information The location of your session will be available in the programme book. The speakers are reminded to be on time, check with the session chair and test the A/V equipment. Presentations should be limited to specific key issues with a brief summary. Each speaker must finish his/her presentation in the given time, 15 minutes (10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion).
Session Chairs The Session Chairs are responsible in keeping the programme flows smoothly. As Session Chairs, it is essential to:
· Contact the speakers prior to the session to verify who will present to pre-empt any technical problems. · Start the session on time. · Introduce the speaker and the title of each presentation. · Notify speaker how many minutes (7, 5, 2) are left, using either card or hands. · Make sure the presenters do not exceed the given time 15 minutes (10 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of discussion).
Language The official language of the conference is English. No other simultaneous translation available.
Tea Break Tea and coffee along with pastries will be provided during the session hours at The Legend Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Lunches Lunches will be provided at The Legend Hotel Kuala Lumpur during session hours. Please contact the Conference Secretary for any dietary needs.
