Project Initiation

Course Synopsis

This is the first short course organized by the School of Environmental Engineering in 2009. It will be conducted for a duration of 2 days. As with the previous short course on ‘Health, Safety & Environment’, this course is organized in collaboration with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB). The ‘Project Initiation’ course aims at exposing the participants on the steps to be taken by a project initiator in the process of implementing a project and to ensure that it can be smoothly carried out. This course also sets to provide the participants with the necessary knowledge, increase their awareness and show them the ways on how to select and run a project effectively, more so at its initial phase. Aspects of business analysis and project planning and scheduling will form the major part of this course. The participants will also be given the opportunity to do ‘hands-on’ exercises on the use of the ‘Microsoft Project’ software. Hopefully, they will gain the necessary knowledge and skill on the application of this software.
