A3I INTERNATIONAL JOINT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

In January 2022, representatives of the four universities established the "A3I Joint Management Committee". After sharing and cross-checking the syllabuses of each university, a credit transfer plan table was created and the contents of the syllabus were reviewed. 

The committee also prepared a joint online course, a curriculum list for the four universities and a schedule for long-term study-abroad students who are taking a dual degree. In addition, the timing and content of the short and summer programs were discussed.
 
The Joint management Committee is responsible for the specific operation and structure of each program, and as the root body of the program, it is organisedIt has held a total of 4 meetings since November 2021.

Kick-off Symposium

The students’ workshop and the kick-off symposium "AI = The Future of Asia" were held online in collaboration with four universities on 17 March 2022. Approximately 150 people such as students, professors, and staff attended from each country and provided an opportunity to learn about cutting-edge examples of AI in Asia and future trends for students in the AI era in Asia.

The workshop held prior to the kick-off symposium was attended by 33 students from 4 countries. Students were divided into a mixed group of four countries and had group discussions on topics of AI. They prepared a presentation to share their achievement in the workshop for the symposium.

Symposium started with the Opening Address by President Shinji Shimada, University of Yamanashi, and was followed by the presidents of each university. They reported on the Signing of the LOI to promise more cooperation between the four universities. After that, Xiaoyang Mao (Vice president, of the University of Yamanashi) introduced this program.

Internationally active top runners in the AI industry from each country delivered keynote speeches. Keynote speeches from Dr Hajime Hotta (Cinnamon AI Co-Founder, Futurist), Dr Hongxia Yang (Director of AI, Alibaba), Dr Junku Yuh (President of Korea Institute of Robotics and Technology Convergence (KIRO), and Dr Hai Liang (Duncan) Lee (Principal Engineer, IT at Intel Corporation) were informative including their own experiences, therefore, students could get knowledge about the current situation of AI industry and the possibility of AI for the future.
